As many readers will know I make frequent use of various webinar platforms. Rather than rely on their various presentation capabilities I use either Keynote or PowerPoint and present my slides locally broadcasting my entire desktop.

This approach has many benefits including complete control, no font problems and the opportunity to make changes to the slides on the fly. One circumstance when I would prefer an alternative approach is when I’m on a client’s site and just need to quickly show a collection of slides to remote viewers for collaborative purposes or to get sign off for a presentation.

This is where the Microsoft Office Presentation Service comes in to it’s own. It is a free service that supports a whole range of desktop and mobile devices without the need for anything more than PowerPoint and an Internet connection.

Check out the video for full details of how to leverage this great feature in your workflow, it’s more powerful than you might think.

Have you used the service? What do you think?
